Set Yourself Up for Success
Don’t be a victim of survival mode.
Survival mode is real, present, and frankly out of control.
My personal early motherhood experience went a little like this:
Regular Chaos ?? Pregnancy Chaos ?? Birth Chaos ?? Postpartum Chaos
This is not something I want to repeat, and I don’t want you to go through it either.
I was stuck in survival mode for so long that it was normal to be exhausted, frustrated, and depleted.
What a travesty.
I prefer to share what I think, and a real thought I have is that it’s a disgusting crime to be robbed of peace of mind in such a beautiful and delicate season.
This is what the expectation is for this season. This is “normal” for postpartum moms according to modern-day society. Really, it’s deemed normal for all women.
“Do everything perfectly and without fail.”?
We must “live to produce” and do it with a smile on our faces. When in reality we are giving from an empty cup, growing in resentment, and living completely unfulfilled.
Why does this happen?
We weren’t given the tools or training to take on a life of this magnitude. Our culture, technology, and expectations increased so rapidly that it has left many of us in the dust. We never feel adequate. We eat ourselves into disease. We drink until we’re sick. We take it out on our children who don’t know any better.
We don’t believe we are worth the effort from ourselves, let alone anyone else.
We keep holding on to the hope that the wisdom given by the previous generation will be enough to get us through. But the reality is hard to face.??
If we want to beat chronic survival mode, we need more than what we are being given.?
We need a community of multi-generational women that are willing to grow, learn, teach, and live these critical skills and strategies while inspiring every human being that crosses their path to do the same.
We need moms that are going to break generational cycles.?
We need grandmothers that are willing to learn from other generations.?
We need children that are taught to be respectful of the knowledge and experiences of others.?
It all sounds great…
How do we do it?
A year ago I was so deep in a pit that I couldn’t see the sky above me. I was so depressed, so broken, and so empty I wasn’t even capable of dreaming to be where I am now.
Today I live a life of peace, order, joy, and fulfillment.?
If you had told me then that I would be free of living as a victim of circumstance, I had survived a year postpartum, and I was coaching numerous women to fulfillment by dreaming and designing their lives, I would have said you’re crazy.
Now I’m living that life.
Whole. Happy. Fulfilled.
There is hope. Set yourself up for success.
The key to this cultural change begins with skilling up.
You can’t live the life you want to live by doing the same thing you have been doing for 15 years. Something has to change.
It took me almost an entire year after being introduced to The Woman School and these new concepts to finally say “yes” to accepting help from a coach.
After I did, everything changed and it began immediately.
My life, family, and mindset transformed before my eyes. I almost couldn’t believe it was happening.
But it was happening. Because I am worthy of a beautiful life, and so are you.?
Let’s journey together on the path of wholeness, mama, and support each other through motherhood and beyond.
Stay tuned on Thursday, July 6th, for an invitation to join our new community.
