You Are Worth It

We’ve entered the “I’ll start in January” phase of the year. You’ve fallen out of your tone-setting morning routine, gained a few pounds from the celebratory dishes, or overspent on Christmas gifts for your loved ones.
You’re telling yourself that this is a problem for future you. In the present, you will NOT be dealing with this right now. It’s been a long year, it’s the holiday season, it’s cold, there’s nothing wrong with waiting to fix this, right?
Oof, lady, I’ve been right there.
I could tell you to put it all off until later, to binge and do whatever you’d like, or to ignore the peace that your morning routine brought your day. But I’m not going to tell you that!
Instead, I’m going to challenge you to ask yourself why you want to put this off? Why don’t you want to push?
Pivoting with your diet, adjusting your morning routine, or pulling from one budget category to another is not what I’m talking about here. I’m talking about thoroughly throwing in the towel until January. We have ALL been there at some point.
I know it’s hard. I know you’re tired. But I also know it is a LOT more exhausting to pick up the pieces of your shattered self in January rather than to keep up with what you are doing now. I’ve done it, and it isn’t fun.
You have to believe that you are worth taking care of, and that you are worth not putting off, fueling your self-image is key during this season. If you don’t believe you are worth the time and effort now, what will make that change in January? You will still be tired. You will still “not have enough time”.

If you don’t believe you are worth it, that is ok.
Meet yourself where you are. Remind yourself that you don’t have to believe you are worth it at this very moment because God does. Rome wasn’t built in a day! However, He does call us to believe that we are worth it and to work at that specifically.
Plan out your next steps. Write and recite some scripts to help rewire your brain into BELIEVING you are worth it.
Here are a few examples:
- “Designing and executing my morning routine sets the tone for my day”
- “Saying ‘no’ to the 3rd plate of mashed potatoes will serve me later on”
- “Taking care of myself is an act of honoring God’s creation”
- “I am worth the time and effort”
- “I am learning to believe that I am worthy”
- “I am a beloved daughter of the Most High”
This season can be challenging. No matter what you are going through in the last chapter of 2023 remember that you are beautiful, worthy, and a beloved daughter of God.
Until next time,
Audye
